Welcome back :)
All eyes on your with these Holographic Highlighters. Its lit you guys, where 'it' is your face! Read my review and comparison on these three babies I've tried so far!
Without further ado, let's talk about these 3D highlighters that can turn your face into a disco ball, shall we?
Those who know me, know that I'm a purple freak! So these are great news for all my fellow purple lovers. The holographic highlighters are an insanely cool way of taking your make up look to the next level.
Heres the ones that I have tried so far
I have seen people argue that they are more useful for editorial make up and donot benefit much for the everyday woman. I disagree!
As it stands true for any other make up product, you need to know how to use these babies to get the best results from them!
For the everyday or soft looks, just add a tad bit (mini swoop) of your favourite holographic highlighter to your cheekbone and see the magic. This does not have to be your highlighter for the entire cheekbone- but it will actually be just a tip of the iceberg, if you may.
The holographic shine in these highlighters gives an extra oomph to your existing high light (yes garl!!!!)
Now for the comparison between the three products I have tried, lets talk price points.
Milk Make up Holographic Stick in Supernova, retails for $28 in the US, available at Sephora.

MAC Extra Dimension Skin Finish in Soft Frost, retails for $33 in the US, available at Maccosmetics.com.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Prismatic Amethyst retails at $38.00 in the US and is also available at Sephora as well as the Becca web site!

Needless to say we have a range of options to choose from, I have not listed all of the holographic highlighters out there. Lets not forget the ABH Highlight Kit in Moonchild. It's one of my biggest regrets that I missed out in that one!
Anywho, lets talk color, texture and pigmentation.
Here are some swatch for y'all-without flash and with flash.
In terms of pigmentation, my vote goes to the Milk Makeup Holographic Stick. The pigment is amazingly good. Texture is creamy but not too creamy so it stays on. In terms of color, its a lighter purple, more like lilac with a good amount of neon glow!
In terms of color, I love the shine of the Mac Extra Dimension Skinfinish. This throws a darker purple sheen and is absolutely breathtaking during night time!
Honestly speaking, I was disappointed by the Becca Cosmetics Skin Perfector. It may work better on lighter skin tones and is good for a very light and soft shine. On my olive skin tone, it doesnt do much but I still use it on the days I dont want to wear gold or rose gold highlight!
I hope you guys found this informative! if you try any of these, hit me up! I'd love your feedback. Until next time love bugs- shine on!
